Au Pair Programme Fees

Au Pair Extraordinaire Registration Fee - Au Pair Extraordinaire does not charge a family registration fee.


Placement Fee - $495 + GST (Non-Refundable)
Invoiced when an offer of Placement is accepted by a candidate, whom Au Pair Extraordinaire has introduced to a family. Placement fees are payable 10 working days before your au pair placement commences.


Au Pair Weekly Pocket Money Weekly pocket money paid by host families directly to their chosen au pair:

  • 25 hours per week NZ $120 (excludes taxes)
  • 30 hours per week NZ $150 (excludes taxes)
  • 35 hours per week NZ $180 (excludes taxes)
  • 40 hours per week NZ $200 (excludes taxes)


End of Contract Bonus - $1040 Paid to your Au Pair on completion of a full 12 month contract (amounts to $20 per week)


Terms and Conditions

By engaging in business and submitting the family registration form to Au Pair Extraordinaire, families agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • The Host Family agree to pay to Au Pair Extraordinaire the placement fee as described above when an offer of placement is accepted by an au pair

  • Host Families must ensure they are familiar with and abide by the programme policies, guidelines and requirements as set out in the Guidelines for Families document and the Terms of Placement Agreement.

  • Should au pair profiles, supplied by Au Pair Extraordinaire be forwarded to friends or acquaintances for consideration resulting in an offer of placement, the full au pair placement fee will apply.

  • In the instance where a Host Family incurs more than one placement fee in a 12 month period, the family will incur no more than $875 + GST in total placement fees for that period.

  • While every effort has been made to provide true and accurate information to all parties based on the information Au Pair Extraordinaire has received. It is the responsibility of the Host Family to satisfy themselves of the suitability of an applicant and to interview applicants by telephone, internet or in person to ensure a good match.

  • Where differences occur and no solution can be reached, or should the Host Family decide to terminate the au pair placement, Host Families must give notice of 2 weeks. During the notice period, the au pair is to perform her normal duties and the host Host Family must provide room, board and pocket money as usual.

  • Provided that the placement fee has been paid in full, Au Pair Extraordinaire agrees, to make every effort to offer a replacement if an au pair leaves the Host Family within 8 weeks of the placement commencing and where the Host Family has met their obligations in terms of their contract and the programme guidelines. In this instance the Host Family will not incur any additional placement fee. It is understood that Au Pair Extraordinaire is able to offer replacement applicant profiles based on their availability at the time and cannot guarantee the availability or suitability of suggested replacements despite their best attempt to offer a replacement.

  • The terms and conditions listed here will apply until the Terms of Placement Agreement is agreed between the Host Family and Au Pair Extraordinaire on commencement of the au pair placement.
